Assistant General Manager at JRDN Restaurant!

JRDN Restaurant is Tower 23 Hotel’s 10,000 square foot award-winning contemporary oceanfront steak and seafood restaurant, featuring casually sophisticated cuisine for lunch and dinner daily, and weekend brunch. The restaurant’s TOWER Bar entices guests with a California-fresh menu that can be experienced in the modern lounge or on the oceanfront terrace.

JRDN Restaurant is currently undergoing an exciting remodel and is seeking a full time, Assistant General Manager to join our team in advance of our grand opening in February. The ideal candidate will have strong P&L knowledge, beverage menu development experience and a proven ability to lead staff in a high-volume, up-market restaurant environment to continue the tradition of excellence and service for which JRDN is known.

Requirements:

The AGM will have the responsibility to assist on the operational, marketing and financial management of the properties food and beverage program.  This includes hiring, training, supervising and motivating the food & beverage management and hourly staff teams, while driving toward budgeted goals.   

6 years upper management experience required.  While this experience is crucial, we are also interested in candidates with a commitment to our common cause.  It is our firm belief that providing exceptional training and the proper tools for our team creates an environment where the guest experience will be authentic and can thrive as well as it allows us to recognize exceptional talent, in turn creating more job opportunities for our team members.

-ability to adapt to new scenarios from Ownership/Corporate
-deals with extreme seasonality of our Peak and Non Peak Business for the year 
-experience with budgets, reading PNLs and the correlation between the two
-understands California labor law regarding meal breaks, overtime etc.
-knowledge of FOH and BOH Health inspection compliance 
-most importantly, candidates must be 110% committed to hospitality and the guest experience
-takes the every guest is my responsibility approach, because they are   
-leads through positivity and presence versus fear and disciplinary action
