Health Information Management (HIM) Adjunct Instructor
Union, Missouri - Part Time

East Central College has an opening for a part-time Health Information Management (HIM) instructor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: (A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)

  • Baccalaureate degree in Health Information Management is minimally required.
  • Active license as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).

ECC offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Management. The person chosen for this position is expected to develop an active learning environment with the use of Canvas (LMS) and other effective instructional technology. Students work towards the successful completion of the RHIT certification.

Adjuncts are hired on a per semester basis and are eligible to teach a maximum of 18 credit hours per calendar year and only 9 credit hours per semester.

Adjuncts are paid per credit hour (pch) based on level of degree obtained.

  • Bachelor - $630 (pch)
  • Master - $650 (pch)
  • Academic/Terminal or Professional - $660 (pch)
  • Academic Doctoral - $670 (pch) or ECC Faculty Retiree - $670 (pch)
