Senior Financial Analyst

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and participate in the design, testing,
implementation, and review of complex manual and automated financial and accounting systems and processes.

You will:
● Assign and evaluate work of accounting and systems analysts and program staff regarding
development or modification of financial and accounting systems
● Perform rigorous analysis of large, complex data sets and provide strategic insights,
hypotheses, and conclusions based upon findings to leaders at all levels
● Work with business and engineering teams to drive the development of Aptera’s data,
reporting, and analytics platforms
● Build, maintain, and improve data models, forecast models, dashboards, and data pipelines
● Create clean, reliable, and scalable data sets by partnering with data quality and application
engineering teams to address data issues in upstream systems and document data lineage,
business logic, and KPI definitions
● Review complex financial accounting work processes, systems, and procedures for efficient
workflow and conformity with accounting principles
● Review internal controls and security of all automated accounting applications to ensure
conformity with auditing standards
● Analyze and review proposals for any system related to financial accounting methods, policies, and procedures; recommend improvements
● Collaborate with appropriate staff to gather input and feedback concerning system needs

● Maintain or assist with maintenance of accounting information systems
● Prepare and deliver comprehensive evaluations, proposals, and recommendations to
executive leadership, committees, and other stakeholders
● Prepare or oversee preparation of specifications and technical documentation such as user
manuals for new and revised computerized accounting systems

Your skills include:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
● 5+ years of relevant experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst
● Ability to work under extreme uncertainty
● Strong supervisory and leadership skills
● Accuracy and attention to detail
● Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
● Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
● NetSuite or similar ERP system experience a plus
● Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
● Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
● Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
● Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and
procedural methods used in big data analysis

○ 30-day target: Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities as a Senior Financial
Analyst independently; working knowledge and integration of Aptera’s purpose and
○ 60-day target: Implementation of knowledge gained in first 30 days to contribute to
Aptera’s mission
○ 90-day target: Ability to utilize knowledge and experience gained in first 60 days to
appropriately and effectively train others and/or lead a team
