Automotive Cost Estimator

As a cost estimator, you will use your skills to manage, track, analyze, and communicate the cost of new and existing programs assuring quality, delivery, high customer satisfaction, and low cost.

Responsibilities 

Responsible for the customer request for quote (RFQ) preparation, completion, accuracy, competitiveness, and timeliness.  Includes internal and external costs.

Collaborates with cross-functional team to obtain accurate market costing (Material, Labor, Overheads, Tooling, etc.)

Responsible for financial reporting to sales for all elements of new quotes. Responsible for completing customer-provided pricing documents.

Interprets outputs of costing models and collaborates with sales to develop customer strategy.

Contribute to the success of program/product launches – quality, delivery, high customer satisfaction, low cost, and manufacturing feasibility.

Prepares costs for Engineering Changes on current business. 

Responsible for managing, tracking, completing, and reporting sales QOS measurable.

Qualifications and Skills

    • College degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Financial, Accounting and/or Costing experience which includes understanding key financial metrics.
    • Excellent communication and people skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work autonomously
    • Detail-oriented.
    • Automotive experience (APQP & PPAP) is advantageous.
    • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, with advanced skills in Excel is advantageous
    • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (cloud-based), Plex experience is a plus.
    • Experience in 3D modeling programs is valuable, but not required. ​​​​​​​
