JOB OBJECTIVE: Under the general direction of the Director of Resident Services, this position is responsible for the management of Resident Services programming for families living with Boulder Housing Partners (BHP). Areas of responsibility include managing the daily operations of programs for families, including developing and overseeing community partnerships to ensure successful implementation of the program model. This position will also be responsible for providing service coordination and collaborating with community partners to support families in the Bringing School Home early childhood demonstration program to meet identified goals and comply with program expectations. This position also supervises service coordinators and AmeriCorps volunteers.

1.  Responsible for the implementation of a strategic plan to help children, youth, and families be successful in school and become self-sufficient adults; and to support families to increase their independence and quality of life. 

2.  Manage the daily operations of the Resident Services Program for families. 

  • Collaborate with BHP staff, community leaders, and residents to define needs, strengths, and opportunities to meet program model goals and objectives. 

  • Research and develop strategic partnerships with local service providers, schools, and organizations to support the provision of service-enriched housing and a continuum of programs and services to help children and youth to succeed academically. 

  • Work with the Director of Resident Services and other staff to define metrics and benchmarks and to evaluate program effectiveness. 

  • Train and supervise Resident Services Coordinator(s), interns, and volunteers to ensure high performance of job duties. 

  • Coordinate activities for interns or volunteers as assigned. 

  • Maintain and submit annual work plan, monthly program and statistical reports, and status reports on service delivery and outcome measures.

3. Provide service coordination to individual residents and their families to improve their housing stability, economic development, education, health, and wellness, and to support children’s academic success.  

  • Interview residents at assigned sites to assess services in place and services needed and conduct follow-up assessments and home visits on an as needed and referral basis. 

  • Assist Bringing School Home program participants to set goals to support children’s healthy development and education outcomes and to identify barriers and access resources to achieve those goals. 

  • Research and develop strong partnerships with community service providers; determining eligibility requirements for those services and leveraging the delivery of those services to BHP residents. 

  • Link residents to community resources, by making referrals, helping with paperwork, and following up on services provided. 

  • Maintain an advocate role with residents and with outside agencies, assisting residents to overcome barriers to accessing needed resources. 

  • Assist property managers with lease and building community issues, as appropriate.  

  • Maintain an annual work plan, monthly program reports, and ensure that data is collected and shared, and outcome measures are tracked. 

4. Promote community building and leadership development with residents.  

  • Support a cohort of families with children ages 0-6. 

  • Create site-based parent committees and facilitate support activities through workshops, discussion groups, recognition events, and holiday celebrations for families. 

  • Work with parents to plan and organize a year-round program of activities to support young children’s healthy development and ability to thrive in kindergarten and beyond. 

  • Encourage community contributions and the development of work-related skills through volunteer opportunities. 

  • Promote communication with residents and community building at assigned sites through newsletters, written announcements, educational programs, and community meetings. 

  • Strengthen parent leadership and advocacy skills. 

 5. Perform related duties as required by management to meet the needs of BHP.  

 6. Work with other BHP departments to develop policies and procedures to promote resident cooperation and lease compliance. 

 7. Represent BHP through participation in professional organizations, meetings, and public speaking events. 

8.  Take proper safety precautions, anticipate unsafe circumstances, and act accordingly to prevent accidents. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment. Use all the required safety equipment.

Ability to read, write and speak fluently in both English and Spanish. Bachelor’s degree/ associates degree or two or more years’ experience in education, service coordination, program development and/or human services or equivalent. Knowledge of early childhood development and experience working with parents of young children. Knowledge of community resources. Supervisory experience. Knowledge of and/or experience in working with culturally diverse individuals and groups. Sensitivity to people who have special needs, such as the culturally diverse, disabled, elderly, or chronically mentally ill. Strong computer skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to work independently and to assume responsibility for completion of complex workload without close supervision. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. Knowledge of and use of good customer service skills. Valid Colorado driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record. Acceptable background information, including criminal history.  


Master’s Degree in related field. Previous experience in federally subsidized housing or human service programs. Experience in building and maintaining relationships with local public and private providers of community and supportive services. Knowledge of community building principles and processes.  


Hiring Range:  60,000 - $73,000/Year DOQ
