Starting Salary Range: $5,048 - $6,310 per month DOE, plus benefits

The Position

We are seeking up to three MTW Program Specialists who will be part of an innovative team focused on positive long-term economic and social outcomes for our participant households.  Team members will work collaboratively to provide a range of supports and services to a caseload of employment-focused (non-elderly, non-disabled) households participating in the federal Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program.

The ideal candidate will be an advocate for racial equity who cares deeply about the needs of our participants, works effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, has strong administrative and quantitative skills, can master multiple tasks, is a clear communicator, is innovative, and is goal oriented.

Responsibilities

The MTW Program Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for families and landlords in their caseload and will be responsible for all aspects of voucher administration, including housing inspections, housing navigation, and support for families to increase their earned income and reduce reliance on housing assistance.  All work will be conducted with the overall goal of supporting families to increase economic opportunity and reduce intergenerational poverty.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination on first day of employment.
  • At least 6 years of paid work experience in one of the following areas (up to four years of secondary education in a relevant field may be substituted for an equivalent amount of work experience):
    • Property management, assisted housing, or similar activity, including at least two years with responsibility for determining eligibility, evaluating compliance with regulations, or applying program requirements to individual situations; or
    • Vocational and/or education counseling, social work, human services, or case management, with a focus on employment and/or self-sufficiency services; or
    • Housing counseling or navigation services
  • Ability to operate a computer; experience with Office suite a plus
  • Ability to conduct inspections of vacant and occupied units, requiring standing, walking, and/or bending for extended periods of time
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with an insurable driving record

EHA will provide training in other competency areas that the employee does not possess upon hire.  Selected candidates must obtain the following three certifications, with at least two obtained within one year of hire: Housing Choice Voucher Specialist, Family Self-Sufficiency, and HCV Housing Quality Standards.
