As our influence expands, we are searching for a highly skilled and strategic minded Senior Software Architect & Developer Engineer to join our team of exceptionally dedicated and inter-connected professionals in an exciting and rewarding technically advanced company.

Our MTI Senior Software Architect & Developer Engineer will bring vision to reality and use their proficient business acumen to advocate for, design, develop, test and release various software and tools to streamline the availability of pertinent data in order for MTI to increase in efficiency and accuracy. This position will improve operations through conducting system analysis and collaborating with functional area leaders on a global scale.  As these tools grow, so will this position and the team executing the designed deliverables: this is a growth positioned role.

With strong support from the CIO, CEO, CFO and Information Services Manager, this position is an integral part of Global Operations team.  We are seeking a focused, analytical, detailed-oriented team member with uncompromisingly high standards and solid work ethic coupled with a strong desire to learn.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be vital to effectively communicate with the many individuals this position comes into contact with at all levels of the organization throughout our global locations.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  1. Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for creating, managing, and maintaining corporate systems and software within tight deadlines
  2. Advise on systems analysis and software development activities 
  3. Learn current operating processes and systems in order to anticipate future needs of the organization
  4. Provide technical expertise, direction, and assistance to Systems Analysts, Systems Engineers, other Systems Architects, and software development teams 
  5. Lead technical design sessions and recommend best practices, alternate choices, and trade-offs 
  6. Lead virtual and onsite cross functional business and IT teams through technical architecture and development 
  7. Lead and manage outsource development partnerships 
  8. Help teams and individuals design a sound software testing strategy and work with developers and QA engineers from the architecture governance perspective during construction phase
  9. Understand the Application / Platform in depth, evaluate and define all the security considerations in architecture
  10. Document the test design in the form of a conceptual approach which will be used as the basis for sizing and the creation of detailed test design
  11. Maintain and extend software development coding standards – including but not limited to naming standards, documentation standards, and design pattern recommendations 
  12. Conduct code reviews to ensure software developers are following recommended coding practices and adhering to coding standards 
  13. Maintain source control and develop branching and merging strategies to control code promotion and effectively segregate development, test, and production environments 
  14. Provide mentorship and guidance to other members of the team 
  15. Function as part of a high performing team during technical implementations of Software-as-a-Service applications to finalize architecture specifications, and create designs as they relate to customization and/or integration of Front Office  
  16. Advise and recommend future technical and/or operational direction and process improvements as related to this function.

Required Skills and Competencies

  1. Possess a demonstrated thorough understanding of Microsoft Power Platform and Associated Services
  2. Demonstrated experience holding pivotal roles as an engineer and architect across domains particularly as a project manager of multi-phase projects
  3. Current and trending knowledge of the latest QA and/or Agile methodologies
  4. Understanding of RESTful web services and best practices for optimizing web services and other integration systems for mobility
  5. Solid understanding of strategies for resiliency and recovery testing
  6. Must conduct oneself with the highest level of professional and ethical standards.
  7. Proficient trouble shooting skills
  8. Keen ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization

Preferred Skills or Competencies

  1. Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  2. Experience developing and / or working within ERP systems

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to perform general office-related activities.
  2. Frequently required to sit.  Moderately require to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl.
  3. Use hands for purposes of keyboarding; handle or feel.
  4. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Required Education and/or Experience

  1. 5+ years of experience leading process improvement initiatives through software development
  2. 5+ years of experience in UI analysis, development, and delivery
  3. 5+ years of experience of agile or iterative software environment
  4. 3+ years of experience in building content delivery strategies for global customers
  5. Large-Scale user facing web development experience
  6. Familiarity and experience with large-scale service information delivery
  7. B.A. in Computer Science or related field
  8. M.B.A. preferred
