Maintenance Field Supervisor and Trainer

OVERALL JOB OBJECTIVE: Under general direction of the Director of Maintenance, this position supervises and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the maintenance field staff. This position assists and trains all maintenance field staff in areas needed to perform their job and complete work orders. Provides a high level of customer support to BHP residents, staff, and colleagues.


  • Identify priority maintenance work and training items regarding field maintenance tasks for the entire BHP portfolio.
  • Establish and implement quality controls and standard operating procedures.
  • Effectively supervise teams of maintenance field technicians.
  • Coordinate property maintenance activities with the property Management and Resident Services departments when needed.
  • Organize and implement maintenance training programs and provide overview of the training plan with techs.
  • Utilize training software to oversee and conduct training with maintenance techs.
  • Enhance employee work habits and safety protocols by providing training and appropriate feedback.
  • Conduct 90-day training workshops with new hires.
  • Track initial and ongoing employee training and ensure timely completion of training activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships based on mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
  • Performs related duties as required by management to meet the needs of BHP.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent; excellent customer service skills; experience working directly with employees/customers with a variety of ethnic backgrounds, Ten-years construction experience to include three years’ experience in the building maintenance trades.  Must have a minimum of 4 years progressive management experience including supervision. Willingness and ability to be flexible with a variety of functions and timing, maintain a positive attitude and reflect the values of excellent customer service, professionalism, and teamwork. Valid Colorado Driver License required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSExcellent written and spoken Bilingual Spanish/English. Experience with a financial system like the YARDI System where the maintenance function is fully integrated with other financial functions. Positive experience working in a team-based environment. Average to advanced computer skills with knowledge and experience using Excel, Word, Power Point, Internet, and data entry.

 Hiring Range:  $82,000-$90,000/Year DOQ
