East Central College has an opening for a Director, Financial Services/Comptroller responsible for the fiscal operations of the College including all accounting functions such as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budget monitoring, and financial reporting at the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.
Minimum Qualifications: (A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
Completion of bachelor's degree and five years related experience.
Essential Tasks: (Employee must be able to perform the following essential functions to the satisfaction of the employee’s supervisor.)
- Prepare monthly financial statements for Board Book.
- Prepare GL entries for monthly and annual GL closings.
- Coordinate the annual audit with external auditors.
- Renew registrations as required (SAM.gov, fictious name etc.)
- Prepare IPEDS Finance reports and DHE Budget Requests and various other survey and accreditation questionnaires.
- Administer the reconciliation, draws, returns and accounting of all federal funds managed through G5.
- Responsible for accounting for individual grant revenues/expenses & construction projects.
- Supervise all personnel assigned, recommending selection, retention, promotion and discharge as appropriate.
- Provide assistance with the development and preparation of the annual operating budget.
- Establish, direct and maintain accounting procedures that reflect Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Maintain system of internal control over College's financial transactions.
- Prepare documentation necessary for all reimbursements assigned and be a resource for other departments requesting reimbursements.
- Process and record all bond and loan transactions.
- Administer the fixed asset process.
- Review general ledger accounts for accuracy.
- Analyze bad debt write-off in order to calculate monthly allowance.
- Responsible for the annual financial statements submitted to the auditors.
- Calculate the scholarship allowance for the audit.
- Review daily requisitions for accuracy.
- File annual PCORI report with IRS.
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner with minimal supervision.
