Nursing Instructor
Union, Missouri - Full Time

East Central College has an opening for a full-time (9 month) nursing instructor to teach the classroom and clinical components of the curriculum for the area of medical surgical nursing at the Union campus. Instructor is expected to develop an active learning environment with the use of effective instructional technology.

Minimum Qualifications: (A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)

  • Master's degree in Nursing, preferred.  Baccalaureate degree in nursing is minimally required. 
  • Appropriate clinical practice with minimum of five years of experience in nursing. 
  • Current, active licensure to practice professional nursing in Missouri; the candidate’s license to practice professional nursing have never been disciplined in any jurisdiction.  

Duties include student advisement, course content development and office hours. Schedule will include teaching primarily day, but may include evening and/or weekend classes.


Full-time faculty work a nine month contract from August - May. Faculty teach thirty (30) semester credit hours (or the equivalent in lab/clinical hours) and maintain 7 office hours per week per academic year.
