Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Sales Executive is to balance developing new business opportunities through sales efforts with targeted clients. This position is instrumental in increasing the company’s marketability and as such, this position will report to the VP of Marketing and New Business Development. As a Senior Sales Executive, you will collaborate with team members to develop sales opportunities for our engineering services.
Primary functions:
- Prospecting and lead generation through research, data mining, and electronic and telephone outreach (aka cold calling).
- Establish healthy client relationships by ensuring client satisfaction and effective communication throughout the sales process.
- Gather, develop, and translate customer requirements into product solutions.
- Develop and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals.
- Conduct thoughtful negotiations to assist with solving the client’s contract needs.
- Assist in expanding DISTek’s market segment by researching potential clients and new industries.
- Exemplify the DISTek values while interacting with clients and attending trade and conference shows.
- Participate in team development by assisting others in the sales process for overall business success.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-year technical degree or work equivalency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20% per year, including overnight travel.
- Proficiency with Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and cloud services.
- 7+ years of sales experience including knowledge of sales skills, principles, and strategies.
- Ability to effectively utilize digital media to communicate with prospects promptly.
- Experience with long sales cycles (6 months+).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4-year STEM-related degree (engineering, computer science,) or business.
- Leadership experience – managing others or having led proposal efforts (or having completed leadership training).
- Presentation skills – ability to present effectively to stakeholders/customers.
- Ability to communicate clearly with people with diverse backgrounds.
- 10+ years of technical sales experience.
- Ability to simplify technical concepts.
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of embedded control systems.
- Familiarity with target engineering markets (off-highway, medical, etc.).
- Experience with data management or control systems (relation to vehicles more desirable).
Pay Transparency Statement
At DISTek Integration, Inc., our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by geographic location, job-related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program. This position’s compensation consists of base pay plus commission and incentive pay.
