Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Strategic Account Manager is to balance growing sales of our engineering services within pre-existing accounts while ensuring client satisfaction. This position is instrumental in maintaining positive working relationships with clients and as such, this position will report to the VP of Strategic Account Development. As a Strategic Account Manager, you will collaborate with team members and clients to establish success for our engineering services.

Primary functions:

  • Prospect within our current clientele by collaborating with stakeholders, engineers, and C-suite level executives.
  • Foster healthy client relationships by ensuring client satisfaction and effective communication throughout the sales process.
  • Grow business sales within existing clientele by gathering, developing, and translating client project requirements into product solutions.
  • Develop and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals.
  • Conduct thoughtful negotiations to assist with solving the client’s needs by demonstrating financial acumen and ensuring budgets and proposals are fiscally responsible.
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of our engineering capabilities and services to effectively communicate all offerings to clients or prospects.
  • Exemplify our DISTek values while interacting with clients and co-workers and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Participate in team development by assisting others in the sales process for overall business success.

Required:

  • Ability to travel approximately 5-10% per year, overnight travel may be required.
  • Minimum of 2-year technical degree or work equivalency.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of sales skills, principles, and strategies.
  • 5+ years of technical sales experience.
  • Experience with long sales cycles (6 months+).

 

Preferred:

  • 4-year STEM-related degree (engineering, computer science,) or business.
  • Leadership experience – managing people or projects (or completing leadership training).
  • Presentation skills – ability to present to stakeholders/clients.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients/people in various positions and technical backgrounds.
  • 7+ years of technical sales experience.
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts.
  • In-depth knowledge of business acumen.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with embedded control systems.
  • Familiarity with target engineering markets (off-highway, defense, etc.).
  • Experience with data acquisition or control systems (related to vehicles more desirable).

Pay Transparency Statement

At DISTek Integration, Inc., our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by geographic location, job-related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program. This position’s compensation consists of base pay PLUS commission AND incentive pay. Base pay is what is outlined in the projected salary (90k-100k), this DOES NOT include what you would receive with commission, incentive pay, and benefits.
