Why You Are Going to Love This Job
As the sole accounting specialist at the Bochum facility, you will be responsible for managing all accounting processes—from Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) to collaborating with tax and payroll professionals. This role is ideal for a self-sufficient, eager individual who embraces learning through questions and mistakes. Your analytical prowess will be crucial in generating management reports and helping standardize our recently implemented ERP system, Glovia. With a diverse day-to-day workload, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations in a 35-person team.
What We Need You to Do
- Invoice Management: Process approximately 300 incoming and outgoing invoices monthly, ensuring timely and accurate billing, payments, and reconciliations.
- ERP Standardization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and standardize workflows within the Glovia ERP system.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate detailed management reports to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with tax, payroll, and other financial professionals, both locally and across international teams in the UK, Mexico, China, and the United States.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure accurate and up-to-date ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Problem Solving: Identify discrepancies or issues within financial records and proactively seek guidance when needed, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Adhere to internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations to maintain financial integrity and compliance.
What You Bring to the Table
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Any additional qualifications in accounting/finance are a plus.
- Relevant work experience in an accounting role; prior exposure to handling AR, AP, and general ledger processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Glovia, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with financial reporting software is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, in addition to fluent/native German.
