East Central College has openings for adjunct (part-time) instructors for EMS/EMT Paramedic courses.
Minimum Qualifications:
- AAS in EMS or related field from a Regionally Accredited College or University (and working toward a Bachelor’s Degree), Bachelor’s Preferred
- Mo. Paramedic License, National Registry License Preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of recent EMS Clinical Experience
- “Completion of Instructor Training program that meets or exceeds the US DOT EMS Instructor Curriculum”
- Teaching Experience as a Primary Instructor or Guest Lecturer in an EMT, Paramedic, or EMS CEU course
- Knowledge of “National EMS Education Standards"
- Current American Heart Association BLS Instructor, ACLS Instructor, and PALS Instructor (or obtained within 6 months)
- Current National Association of EMT’s PHTLS Instructor (or obtained within 6 months)
Adjuncts are hired on a per semester basis and are eligible to teach a maximum of 18 credit hours per academic calendar year and only 9 credit hours per semester.
Adjuncts are paid per credit hour based on level of degree obtained.
