East Central College has an opening for a part-time Youth Coordinator responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage K-12 students and promote awareness of future career pathways and college programs with the Center for Workforce Development. This role involves organizing events and activities that inspire students to consider higher education opportunities and long-term career goals.
Position is part time. Hours not to exceed 19.75 a week.
Minimum Qualifications: (A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
- Bachelor's degree in education, early childhood or related 2 years of experience.
Essential Tasks: (Employee must be able to perform the following essential functions to the satisfaction of the employee’s supervisor.)
- Design and implement outreach plans targeting K-12 students to promote college readiness and career awareness.
- Align outreach efforts with institutional goals and population needs.
- Organize college and career exploration events, workshops, and presentations for K-12 students.
- Coordinate logistics, materials, and instructional staff for outreach events.
- Create age-appropriate materials and presentations to engage student audiences.
- Collect and analyze data, utilize Salesforce, and assess the effectiveness of outreach activities.
- Prepare reports and make recommendations for program improvements.
- Work with faculty, admissions, and student services to align outreach efforts with college offerings.
- Address barriers to access and engagement in educational outreach.
- Develop promotional content for outreach events, including flyers, emails, and social media posts.
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner with minimal supervision.
