You’ll assist with trench preparation, pipe handling, backfilling, and maintaining a safe, organized job site. Key Responsibilities for Success

• Trench Preparation: Hand-digging around utilities, installing safety shoring (trench boxes), and managing water pumps.
• Rigging & Handling: Signaling equipment operators to move heavy pipe sections and staging materials along the job site.
• Pipe Layer Support: Cleaning and lubricating joints, cutting pipe to length with chop saws, and grouting manhole connections.
• Backfilling & Compaction: Use jumping jacks or plate compactors to stabilize the soil and holding the grade rod for laser measurements.
• Site Safety: Acting as a spotter for heavy machinery, managing traffic control, and maintaining tools and equipment.

What You Bring to the Table

• A strong work ethic and serious respect for safety
• 6 months to 1-year related experience in heavy civil construction.
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Training in trench safety and confined space.
• Physical strength, stamina, and coordination to handle long days in the elements
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds, use hand tools, and perform repetitive manual tasks
• A willingness to learn, grow, and take direction from experienced crew members
• Team-first mindset—no task is too small if it helps the crew
• A keen awareness of your surroundings and commitment to staying safe on busy job sites
