Rothrock Civil Construction is seeking an experienced Mainline Operator to operate and maintain heavy equipment for installing and repairing water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. The ideal candidate has strong equipment operation skills, a safety-first mindset, and takes pride in completing work efficiently, accurately, and according to project plans.

Key Responsibilities for Success
- Precision Excavation: Digging to exact line and grade specifications for mainline water, sewer & storm drain systems.
- Utility & Trench Safety: Safely excavating around existing utilities with precision to prevent strikes.
- Equipment Stewardship: Performing daily inspections of fluid levels, brakes, and mechanical components to ensure machine readiness.
- Safe Material Handling: Overseeing rigging and the secure lowering of pipes and manhole barrels into excavations.
- Installation & Backfilling: Managing the full installation cycle, from reaching proper depth to meeting final grade compaction standards.
What You Bring to the Table
- 5+ years of Mainline-level operating experience specifically in underground utility installation.
- Awareness of soil conditions and proper slope requirements per OSHA standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of Blue Stake markings.
- A proactive attitude—you don't wait to be told, you look ahead, solve problems, and own your section of the job
- Familiarity with documentation and reporting tools: daily logs, cost tracking, quantity reports, etc.
- Strong collaboration skills—you can partner with PMs, estimators, and field leads to deliver quality, on time
