Overview

The Communications & Transformation Network Coordinator is a dual-function role designed to bridge the gap between high-level brand strategy and on-the-ground operational excellence. This role serves as the primary regional steward for the Stanford Seed brand, ensuring that all communications, events, and network activities reflect the excellence and integrity of Stanford University, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and Stanford Seed.

By bringing accountability to previously fragmented processes, the Coordinator ensures that the Stanford Seed Transformation Network (STN) operates with consistency, visibility, and strategic alignment across all regional chapters.

I. Communications 

  • Regional communications lead: Serve as Africa regional liaison between the global communications team and the regional team. Advise global team on regional considerations to effectively reach potential and existing clients in the region

  • Brand Guardian: Is the Africa regional lead on all matters related to brand voice, tone, logo usage, and common pitfalls to ensure brand alignment. Actively monitor the regional markets for brand misuse by collaborators and participants. Resolve issues proactively and verify that all live assets meet brand requirements.

  • Regional Storytelling: Source and produce a steady pipeline of locally-driven content, including STP, Spark and Aspire participant, and Network member success stories, participant milestones, and event coverage to feed newsletters and social channels.

  • Asset Management: Manage the regional flows of design requests. Liaise between regional teams and central designers to ensure WhatsApp graphics, event posts, and marketing materials meet brand standards and are delivered on schedule.

  • Recruitment Support: Assist in annual participant recruitment by managing referral initiatives across regional chapters.

  • Public Relations: Cultivate relationships with diverse media channels and create opportunities for generating favorable publicity for Seed. Track online and traditional media mentions of Stanford Seed. Proactively secure speaking and participation opportunities for Seed staff to strengthen Seed’s visibility, brand presence, and thought leadership.

  • Photography Coordination: On-board new photographers and work with them to generate both communications assets as well as capture moments for event attendees. Mitigate legal risk by soliciting and managing documented permissions/approvals for photo use in marketing collateral. 

  • Visual Presentation: Work with event design teams to create the visual "environment" of Immersion Weeks, high-visibility events and awards. Ensure signage, presentation decks, and banners meet Stanford Seed’s quality standards, resolving on-site brand issues in real-time.

II. Event & Immersion Week Excellence

  • Event Logistics: Support the Network Manager(s) in planning and delivering end-of-year events, masterclasses, and expert-led sessions, including venue preparation and participant communication.

III.  Transformation Network Coordination

  • Event promotion and logistics: Generate and manage assets for promoting transformation network events. Support the Network Manager(s) in planning and delivering end-of-year events, masterclasses, and expert-led sessions, including venue preparation and participant communication.

  • Social Media Management: Oversee management of Transformation Network social media channels. Support regional social media presence on Stanford Seed’s central channels and drive engagement through regional content and event capture. This includes digital outreach in support of STP recruitment, covering online and in-person events, pre-event marketing, and post-event content such as event highlights and photography. Meet at a regular cadence with counterparts in other regions to ensure equal representation. 

  • Impact Tracking and MIS: Support Network Manager to implement Annual Seed Survey. Maintain regional participant contact databases and trackers to support outreach and survey completion.

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with Transformation Network leadership and staff as well as business leaders through periodic check-in calls and site visits.


To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in communications, social media, journalism, and/or entrepreneurship support (incubators, accelerators, or business networks).

  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Google Workspace and Slack. Experience and interest in AI-powered content tools (Claude) and social media management are a plus. 

  • Skills:

  • High Accountability: Ability to own processes end-to-end without constant supervision.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills with a "Stanford-appropriate" tone.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Comfortable initiating outreach and building relationships with internal teams, network chapters, and external partners across business and ecosystem contexts; At ease in event settings.

  • Multitasking: Comfortable managing a distributed workload across marketing, logistics, data collection, and network management.

  • Additional Requirements: Must have or be eligible to procure legal authorization to work in Kenya and a willingness to travel for regional events.
